Welcome to the Ferreira Research Group and the Flood Hazards Research Lab

Investigating and developing solutions that increase society resilience to water related natural hazards.

We are currently investigating the potential of nature to reduce hurricane induced flooding and wave impacts  to critical infrastructure and coastal regions. Our research strives to incorporate future climate variability, sea-level rise and human induced environmental changes to engineering practice and design. Our group is also focusing on integrating riverine, urban and coastal flooding analysis at real time, near future forecasting and critical infrastructure design.
